Canada brought leaders from around the world together at the Fifth Replenishment Conference of the Global Fund in Montréal, Quebec to raise funds and support the Global Fund in ending the devastating epidemics – AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria – by 2030. -
Approximately 500 participants joined the conference, including Ban Ki-moon, United Nations Secretary-General, Bill Gates and Bono. Over US$ 12.9 billion was raised for the three-year period from 2017 to 2019, nearly US$ 1 billion more than at the previous replenishment conference in 2013.
This conference represents a historic opportunity for Canada and the world to end these epidemics.
The Global Fund is a true expression of Canada’s values—caring for one other, supporting those in need and improving the health of our global community, particularly the poorest and most vulnerable.
